Bloomsbury is blessed with many singers and instrumentalists who enhance our services with their musical gifts. From week to week, the members of the choir change (according to their availablity), but under the careful direction of Philip Luke, the church organist, a high standard is maintained. The singing of the introit and anthem at our morning services is a significant part of Bloomsbury’s worship.
The singers, many of them accomplished musicians in their own right, together with enthusiastic amateurs, rise to the challenge of the four-part harmonies of both traditional choral works and modern contemporary worship songs.
Philip is always listening out for strong, tuneful voices in the congregation, and many people who are visiting one Sunday can find themselves at choir practice at 10am the next week, rehearsing for the morning service.
On Saturday 4 February 2012 at 2pm. we will be hosting the SMALL CHOIRS FESTIVAL
Small Choirs Festivals are designed for small church choirs and are based on a repertoire that such choirs could manage in their own churches without further resources. All singers and choirs who support the aims of the festival are invited.
