Olympic
Torch
The congregation spilled out on to the pavement
after morning worhsip on Sunday 6 April 2008 to witness the
Olympic Flame for the Beijing Games pass by the church.
Surrounded by security marshalls and police,
it was difficult to catch a glimpse of the runner carrying
the torch who was being protected from protestors raising
awareness of human right abuses by China - particularly in
Tibet - one of the themes highlighted in the sermon preached
by minister, Simon Perry, that morning.
