Prayers
from the Megabytes
(Megabytes - our teenagers - meet on
the first Sunday of the month at 2pm)
This
is a prayer of confession and saying sorry to God.
Dear God,
Please forgive our bad attitude. Sometimes we are too rude
and aggressive with other people. We confess our in-built
faults. Sometimes we act thoughtlessly and we are often selfish
and jealous. We are sorry for not behaving towards others
as we would like them to behave towards us. Amen
This is a prayer to say thank you.
Dear Lord,
On behalf of everyone sitting here today, I would like to
say Thank you for this amazing weekend. Thank you for the
delicious food, interesting and talented people, the long
walks, the centre. Some may not be as lucky as us, having
a wonderful family, super church, friends to interact with,
school to help our brains grow bigger.
God, a big thank you for the music and drama
and the message it sends out. This weekend has given some,
who haven’t already had it, confidence, dignity and
to break out of our shell, our health and most importantly
free will.
Thank you for good friends to meet.
Thank you for this day to greet.
Thank you for the chance to sing,
Thank you, God, for everything.
Lord, I have two words to say to you –
THANK YOU.
Amen
This is a prayer to ask please
Dear God,
We ask that you help those who are struggling, be that with
illness, sadness, loneliness, poverty or injustice.
There is still a lot of inequality and injustice in your world
and much of it may be hidden from us. Please help to put the
situation right and help us to be aware of what is wrong so
that people will soon have the freedom and justice that we
are lucky to have.
At Bloomsbury we are especially aware of homelessness on the
streets of London. Please help us to be more helpful to those
on the church’s doorstep, as a community and as individual
people.
And please help all of us in this room, as well as everyone
in the world, to know you better and love you more everyday,
to be the people you want us to be.
Amen
