Times of prayer

The church is open during the week for special times of prayer and meditation.

Tuesdays

Tuesdays, 2.00 for 2.15 to 2.45pm.

This is an opportunity to explore the prayer of waiting: setting aside a short time to wait quietly and expectantly, in God’s presence, and see what will happen.

Sundays

Sundays, 10.10 to 10.30am.

As a church, we have a period of reflection and exploration as we look towards the future, and consider how our life here as a church might develop. So for 20 minutes on a Sunday morning before the service, there is an invitation to meet together to pray for the church and its ministry, and specifically for the future work.

In this meeting, we draw on the tradition that has been very strong in the Free Churches, of an open prayer meeting. Although somebody leads, everyone can take part, aloud or silently, in praying that we will discern the mind of Christ.

These meetings are open to anybody who wishes to come. Although there is strength in the “habit of meeting together”, coming once, or occasionally, is fine.
