Terms and conditions

1. Details of our rooms, facilities and charges are set out in our leaflet, Halls and Meeting Rooms to Hire and here on the church website.

2. Provisional bookings may be made by telephone or .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address). They should then be confirmed either by email or in writing.

3. We prefer full payment when a booking is made. If you wish to pay on the day, you may be asked for a deposit. If you are seeking credit, please contact the church office to agree arrangements.

4. In the case of bookings extending over a period, the church reserves the right to move a booking to a different location or cancel it on a particular date if an urgent and unexpected church need arises.

5. The building is opened at 9am and closed by 10pm. Access to the booked rooms will be available from the time of arrival until the time of departure stated on your booking form.

6. We require a responsible person on site for the whole duration of each booking. The responsible person must sign in, accepting responsibility for the group, including responsibility for evacuating the group without using the lift if the fire alarm sounds. If the group includes a disabled person who would have difficulty getting out quickly, the receptionist must be informed and a plan agreed for action in the event of an emergency evacuation. When all members of the group have left, the responsible person must sign out.

7. Smoking and alcohol are not permitted on the premises.

8. The use of sticky tape, blutack etc. on walls or floors is not permitted.

9. Bicycles may not be brought into the building, nor may they be secured to the handrails outside. Cycle parking facilities are available nearby.

10. Hirers should discuss any catering needs at the time of booking. Use of the kitchens may be negotiated. Coffee, tea or bottled water may be ordered.

11. Hirers should undertake their own risk assessments. If any children or vulnerable people are present for a booking, it is the hirer’s responsibility to have a suitable protection policy. If the gallery is used, it should be noted that the ballustrade is low and the hirer should arrange stewards appropriately, especially if children are present.

12. Corridors and emergency exits must never be obstructed. Furniture or equipment belonging to a hirer must be kept within the rooms hired. Groups requiring a waiting area may use the foyer or book a separate room.

13. First aid supplies are available in the kitchens and from the church office.

14. The hirer is responsible for the cost of any damage and for the cost of exceptional cleaning required after an event if the room is left in disarray.

15. The church does not accept liability for damage to, or loss of, personal property.

16. The church reserves the right to terminate any bookings by a group or individual which fails to comply with these conditions.
