Arjel Lejarde
When did you first come to Bloomsbury,
and why?
I first came to Bloomsbury in July 2007.
I practically grew up in the church and one of my priorities
when I first came to London was to find a church where my
young family and I could regularly worship. I came across
Bloomsbury's website and decided to attend one Sunday worship
service. After attending the morning worship service and meeting
fellow Filipinos, I felt at home.
What do you admire and enjoy most
about the church?
I admire the church for its welcoming congregation
as a whole. Many church members like us and regular attendees
are not from London but we feel part of the church as if we
are natives in this country. I have noticed as well, that
a number of church members live outside the Central London
or even outside London but prefer to attend the worship service
at Bloomsbury. There is something that keeps members staying
and visitors coming back.
What one aspect do you especially
love?
Bloomsbury is full of various talents that
makes worship services joyful and creative.
What do you hope for the future of
Bloomsbury?
I hope that Bloomsbury would continue
to grow to be a place of refuge for people searching for God,
for friendship, for warmth or for answers. May it continue
its ministry to less priveleged people.
