Fred Mardell
When did you first come to Bloomsbury, and why?
In 1940, when I joined the Scout group.
What do you admire and enjoy most about the church?
The preaching, the openness, the welcoming atmosphere and the variety of people who attend.
What one aspect do you especially love?
The children's work, which I have been involved in, although not recently. The music is also important to me.
What do you hope for the future of Bloomsbury?
I hope it maintains its current strengths and moves into new areas of need in the surrounding neighbourhood.
Do you have a memorable moment of an event at the church?
Probably the visit of the Dalai Lama to a mixed faith service,
and also Martin Luther King to a morning service. There have
been many other memorable moments from our ministers, Dr Townley
Lord, Dr Howard Williams, Barry Hibbert and Dr Bryan Haymes
and hopefully many to come from our new ministers.
