Howard Brown
When did you first come
to Bloomsbury, and why?
I first came to Bloomsbury in 1969 when I moved from Portsmouth
to work in London. I was recommended by a friend who told
me I had to hear a wonderful preacher named Howard Williams.
What do you admire and enjoy
most about the church?
I admire the Church’s openness—to everyone, regardless
of class, creed or race.
What one aspect do you especially
love?
I like the way in which we all muck in and do whatever task
needs to be done—a true mixing of people and a demonstration
of the gospel of equality.
What do you hope for the
future of Bloomsbury?
I hope we will take advantage of the opportunities offered
by the St Giles development to find innovative ways of sharing
the gospel news.
Do you have a memorable moment
of an event at the church?
A very personal memory of escorting my daughter
Judith up the aisle for her marriage, a beautiful service.
