Bloomsbury
Central Baptist Church is in an intriguing location. Walk in
any direction and you are just a few minutes away from famous
and fascinating places. North is the British Museum and the
squares of Bloomsbury. South is theatreland, Covent Garden and
the cinemas of Leicester Square. East is Holborn and Lincoln's
Inn. And to the west is Oxford Street, Soho and the West End.
So what is our church doing in this area, and who are the people
who meet and worship here week by week? Click and explore the

Bloomsbury is a part of the world-wide Baptist
family as a member church of the London
Baptist Association whose offices are in the church building,
a member church of the Baptist
Union of Great Britain and an associate member church
of the Baptist World Alliance. Members and friends support
the work of Baptist World Mission through the birthday scheme.
Ecumenically, our ministers are active in
the Soho Minister’s Group, and the church is a keen
supporter of the work of both Churches
Together in Westminster and Christians
Together in Camden. We also play an active part in the
Camden
Faith Communities Partnership which draws together leaders
Faith leaders across Camden.
Informal discussions between ministers and members of St
Anselm and St Cecilia RC Church (Kingsway), St
George's Parish Church (Bloomsbury) and Bloomsbury have
begun to explore ways of in which we might learn and fellowship
together from time-to-time.
The church supports the work of Christian
Aid and is a registered Fairtrade
church. Annually we host the Amnesty
International Act of Witness organised by the Mayfair
Soho Amnesty Group.
Locally, Bloomsbury sends representatives
to British Museum community events, West Central Forum meetings,
Central
Saint Giles and Crossrail liaison meetings and the Camden
Emergency Planning Group.
