Margaret Bevis
When did you first come to Bloomsbury, and why?
In 1967, when I was flat-hunting in order to start teaching in London. The minister at my old church arranged for me to meet Barbara Stanford at Bloomsbury, and Barbara persuaded me to help with a catering event during that flat-search week. The rest is history. I've helped for almost 40 years in Bloomsbury's kitchen!
What do you admire and enjoy most about the church?
Its inclusive openness.
What one aspect do you especially love?
The support and fun of being part of the Bloomsbury family.
What do you hope for the future of Bloomsbury?
That it retains its distinctive flavour. That the policies and
principles which have been its driving force since 1848 continue
to be developed for the 21st century.
Do you have a memorable moment of an event at the church?
The positive manner in which our kids' friends have reacted to Bloomsbury when attending wedding and infant presentations.
