Tim Jones
When did you first come to Bloomsbury, and why?
I'd just moved to London and two members at Bloomsbury were
kindly letting me stay with them until I found somewhere to
live, so I thought I should check out their church.
What do you admire and enjoy most about the church?
It's the best church I know at making everyone feel welcome, and truly engages with the radical message of Jesus and how this impacts on our lives together in the world we live in.
What one aspect do you especially love?
I love our weekends away with the young people. Once a year we go to a youth hostel in the countryside and have fantastic fun, primarily through scoffing our faces, playing games and singing songs round the campfire. It should be exhausting, but I always come back energised to take on the coming autumn.
What do you hope for the future of Bloomsbury?
That we grow as a community in understanding how the radical message of Jesus relates to our lives in London, and that we act on that understanding by being a community which allows God to work through us in bringing the kingdom of heaven closer to earth.
