Vilem Kriz
Vilem joined the Bloomsbury staff
team in August 2009 as Church Manager.
When did you first come to Bloomsbury, and why?
I came to Bloomsbury with my partner Alena
at the beginning of September 2008. Why Bloomsbury? It is
because Alena had already had some links with Philip Luke,
the organist, and another church member and also visited your
church back in 1999.
What do you admire and enjoy most about the church?
The whole community of the church is really
friendly and in fact church is for me a unique place of peace
and power at the same time. I've been in London just a short
time, but I haven’t found any other place where I had
the same feelings like Bloomsbury, yet.
What one aspect do you especially
love?
The way in which Ruth and Simon, the Ministers,
lead the Sunday worship is great. I am originally from a different
protestant church - John Hus Church in Czech Republic - where
I was Christened and also confirmed. But to be honest, church
was a place where I could hear only about rules and things
I could not even understand. Nothing much was based on everyday
situations and it led me to a rather passive attitude. But
after arrival to Bloomsbury this has changed.
What do you hope for the future of
Bloomsbury?
I hope that I will be able to help
the community as much as our former Ministry Assistant did.
I’m sure that with all of us together it’s going
to be a really nice journey.
