Practicing prayer; practicing gratitude 1

Meister Eckhart, the medieval theologian and mystic said “If you say no prayer but thank you, that is enough”.

Over the next few weeks, we are going to explore saying thank you.


This week, find some time to be quiet and sit in a comfortable position. Take 10 deep breaths.

Then, let the last twenty four hours run through your mind; watch what has happened as if on a video – notice the things that stand out for you. Pay especial attention to moments that have made you smile – small or large. Thank God for them. If somebody has done something that has made you smile, let them know and say thank you.
