The choir of Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church currently sings on the first Sunday of the month and welcomes new members (please contact the director of music robertsholl@hotmail.com for further information). We sing a broad range of repertoire embracing traditional church music to contemporary worship music. The choir is currently assisted by two choral scholars Rhianna Hogg (soprano) and Amélie Mack (alto), as well as instrumentalists from the Bridge String Quartet, Catherine and Michael Schofield.
Rhianna Hogg

Rhianna is a 21-year-old Soprano, originally from South Wales but is now based in London. She began singing in her early teens, and after competing in local competitions, became a guest soloist for choirs such as South Wales Male Voice Choir and Cowbridge Male Voice Choir. She has sung as a soloist in venues such as St David's Cathedral and Llandaff Cathedral. Rhianna was also the chosen soloist from the Welsh National Opera’s Youth Company for the arrival of the Late Queen Elizabeth II at the 2021 televised opening of the Senedd, the Welsh Parliament. After taking some time away from music from 2022, Rhianna has recently returned to singing with fervour. In January 2026, she successfully auditioned for a place at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, and will begin her undergraduate studies there in September 2026.
Amélie Mack

Amélie Mack is a French British mezzo-soprano from Cardiff, currently studying at the Royal Academy of Music. She is developing a strong artistic focus on opera and Lieder, alongside extensive professional choral and ensemble experience. Amélie has been a member of the BBC National Chorus of Wales for three years, performing major symphonic repertoire and appearing in three BBC Proms at the Royal Albert Hall. Committed to representing Wales and the Welsh language, she also sings with the National Youth Choir of Wales for 4 years. In addition, she is a member of the English Baroque Choir and the London Philharmonia Chorus, sings regularly as a music scholar, and continues to broaden her musicianship through operatic projects and conducting studies.
Michael and Cathy Schofield

Michael (viola/violin) and Cathy Schofield (violin) have been part of the music scene at Bloomsbury for over 40 years and it is a place close to their hearts where their two daughters grew up in the church family. They are both professional string players and between them have worked with BBC Symphony, English Chamber and Philharmonia Orchestras as well as with Glyndebourne and English Touring Opera companies.
Their first love is chamber music and they are founding members of the Bridge String Quartet which in over 30 years has released numerous highly acclaimed recordings and toured across the UK and abroad in Europe, Africa, and the USA:
