Chalice: Minimum Labyrinth
Lunchtime concert, Tuesday 24 November 2026, 1pm
Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, 235 Shaftesbury Avenue, London WC2H 8EP
Chalice is a new musical project that combines spoken word with atmospheric, improvised music, exploring mystery, philosophy, folklore and transcendence. No two performances are the same. Texts may come from medieval poetry, speculative philosophy, literature high and low, ancient religion, or the members’ own writing, often cut up and set side by side. Listen to an excerpt.
- Ian Blake: reeds
- Rich Cochrane: guitar and electronics
- Nicolas Hajdu: bass
- Robert Kingham: narrative
This is Chalice’s first public concert. It is a fundraiser for Bloomsbury Central Baptist Church, which is five minutes’ walk from Tottenham Court Road station.
